Sunday School

There are two Sunday school classes for youth, one for middle school students and one for high school students. Both classes meet in the lower level of the church during the normal Sunday school hour (9:45 AM Sunday Mornings) Both groups use the Presbyterian Church (USA) curriculum, "We Believe."

Confirmation Class

A nine month Confirmation Class is offered every three years on Sunday mornings for our 6th - 8th grade youth. During this time, the youth explore what it means to profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and join the church. Eleven teens were confirmed in May 2005. Short-term confirmation classes are offered by the pastor between the three year offerings.

Youth Fellowship

Western Blvd's youth group meets Sunday Evenings from 5:30 PM until about 7:00 PM. The group is made up of Middle and High school students. Youth group meetings usually include a short program, and dinner.

Over the course of a year, the youth participate in worship, service, fellowship and fun. Topics relevant to the lives of the youth are incorporated into the Sunday night programs and discussions.

Retreats and Mission Trips

The youth of the church participate annually in events such as the Montreat Youth Conference, and the Masanetta Middle School Conference. The youth also participate in Presbytery retreats and mission trips as opportunities present themselves. The youth of the church returned from a mission trip to Gulfport, Mississippi. The teens worked on two houses. One of the houses passed final inspection allowing the family to return home after nearly two years. This was a wonderful experience for our teens to experience.
